

Dorothy M. Robbins, 95, formerly of Clinton passed into eternal rest on Sunday, August 16, 2015. She was born in 1919, Brooklyn, NY into a loving Irish family, the daughter of Francis Blake O’Flynn and Margaret Costello. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Catherine Carroll of Killingworth, CT and a brother Edward O’Flynn of San Francisco, CA. She was also pre-deceased by her husband, William C. Robbins and her best friends, Catherine “Kitty” Robbins and Chester J. Robbins. The Robbins Family owned and operated the historic Clinton Manor Inn for 3 generations from 1939 until 1976. Prior to arriving in Clinton in 1950, she lived in St. Petersburg, FL and Brooklyn, NY. She previously worked as a buyer for fine woman’s clothing and also as an import/export clerk. She leaves a son, William B. Robbins and his wife, Charlotte of Old Saybrook; Two grandchildren, W. Blake Robbins, Jr. of Medford, MA and Alicia Robbins Chevalier of Sharon, MA. and two great-grandchildren, Reagan and Carly Chevalier. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Parish for many years and was active in the Altar Society and as a Eucharistic Minister. She was completely devoted to her faith, family and friends. She always had a smile, a kind word and was blessed with a gracious and gentle nature. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to St. Mary’s Church, 54 Grove St., Clinton, CT or Catholic Charities Adoption Services.
