Edward S. Kornak

Kornak- Edward S. Kornak 87, formerly of Old Saybrook and Middletown, presently of Lynchburg Va., died January 30, 2013. He was the widower of his beloved wife Joan Kornak. He was born in Newington, son of the late John and Mary Kornak. He was a printer for Uarco in Deep River for 19 years. Mr. Kornak was a WWII Marine Veteran. He is survived by his loving children, Cynthia Wetmore and her husband Paul of Ervington Va., Edward Kornak Jr. and his wife Barbara of Middletown, and Mary Shapiro and her husband Jeffrey of Guilford. Mr. Kornak also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Todd Wetmore, Amy Barba, Kristopher Shapiro, Katie Shapiro, and Rachel Kornak. He also leaves a loving great grandchild Colten Barba, as well as 2 sisters Frances Neron of Windsor, and Clara Sabala of Windsor Locks. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his siblings, Jenny, John, Joseph, and Helen. Visitation will be Monday Feb. 4, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church 7 Hemlock Drive Killingworth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church Killingworth. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Killingworth. The Swan Funeral Home Clinton has charge of the arrangements.
