

Beanie was born in New Haven on January 1, 1941, to the parents of Joseph and Irene Melillo Tamson, grew up in Branford and graduated from Branford High School.
She married Roger Shorey in 1962 and continued to live in Branford until 1966 when she moved to Clinton and in 1972 she then moved to Westbrook.
Beanie was an inspector at Turbo Products/Doncasters in Ivoryton from 1979 and worked there until retirement in 2001.
In 2003, Beanie returned to Clinton where she resided until her death. She married Peter Norman Smith in 2008 who preceded her in death in 2014.
Beanie is survived by her brothers Joseph and Kevin Tamulevich and Kevin's wife Leslie, her children Rob, Lynn and Roger Shorey, daughter in law Marie Shorey, grandchildren Ben and Jessica Shorey and great granddaughter Celeste Shorey, along with many nieces and nephews.
Beanie was passionate about her family and her dog Mia. She enjoyed many years with all her animals on her farm in Westbrook, fishing on Long Island Sound, bird and critter watching, bowling, breakfast at the Coffee Break and dining at Bill's Seafood.
Cremation took place on March 1st. Please join the family to celebrate Beanie's life on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at the Cuckoo's Nest, 1712 Boston Post Rd. in Old Saybrook.
