Ellen Tollefsen

Ellen (Abrahamsen) Tollefsen, 89, wife of Tollef Tollefsen (deceased) died peacefully in her Clinton home on May 28th. The youngest of 11, Ellen was originally from Oslo, Norway. She married Tollef and lived through the occupation of Oslo, Norway during World War II. In 1949 she arrived in this country with her husband and two young boys. They settled in Clinton where she raised her 2 sons and daughter. Ellen was an accomplished seamstress, baker, and homemaker. She was a devoted mother to Terje Tollefsen (deceased), Kjell Tollefsen and Ingrid (Tollefsen) Neri. Ellen will be greatly missed by her family that also includes 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. All who knew her will fondly remember her warm heart and beautiful smile. There will be a private memorial gathering by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local “Meals on Wheels” program. The Swan Funeral Home Clinton has charge of the arrangements.
