Laurel Leslie Young Sr.

Laurel L. Young Sr. passed peacefully at home on Feb. 27, 2024. He was born March 12, 1944, in Danforth, ME to Hubert and Ruth (Cropley) Young, one of nine children. He attended school in Danforth and entered into the workforce through woods work. He would move on to be an equipment operator and truck driver for the Town of Guilford Connecticut, where he retired. From his first marriage to Brenda Robertson, he had 2 sons and a daughter; Dwayne, Pam and Eric. With his marriage to Margaret Malkowski Craig, he gained 2 stepsons, Chris and David and a son, Laurel Jr.

Laurel enjoyed visiting family and had special connections to several nieces and nephews. He and Marge developed a love for Deering Lake as they would rent a cottage there almost yearly for visits to Maine. Those visits would always include a cookout with family and friends in attendance.

Laurel was predeceased by his parents, six siblings, several nieces and nephews, a stepson, Chris Craig, and his soulmate Marge. He is survived by his children, Dwayne (Dawn), Pam (Tyler), Eric (Rebecca), Laurel (Kelly) and stepson David (Conchie). He is also survived by his sister, Irene, and sister-in-law, Wanda. He leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Nikki, Bobby and Biscuit, his furry little companions will miss him as well.
