Lorraine was born on September 14, 1936 in New Haven, the only child of Edward and Lena Grimmer.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Nicholas Alexander Ketre but prior to his unexpected passing they were married and inseparable for 62 years. They were lovers of big dogs and their warm and happy home was often shared by two or three large friendly pups. They enjoyed countless summer weekends at the campground and they had great vacations with lifetime friends Ruthy and George. Watching almost any sport on TV was a favorite pastime for both of them, but UConn women’s basketball was always #1 for Lorraine.
In addition to caring wife and mother of two, Lorraine was a provider for her family with a dedicated 24-year career at Clinton Instrument Company. She was also an amazing baker and her family, friends, and neighbors will remember being overwhelmed by the variety and quantity of cookies and cupcakes that would lovingly come from her small kitchen.
Lorraine was predeceased by her son Douglas Ketre, but is survived by her daughter Sheryl Senior and her husband John of Cheshire. Grandma Raine and Grandpa Nick were always crazy about their loving grandchildren Sydney and Spencer Senior.
Lorraine and Nicholas will rest together at the Connecticut Veteran’s cemetery, and services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to fight diabetes:
