Our beloved Luz Maria Diaz (Ramos Alicea) also known as Lucy, from Westbrook, CT. went peacefully to be with the Lord on May 12, 2026 at the age of 70. She was born on October 10, 1955 in the town of Las Marias, Puerto Rico where she lived until the age of 12. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, sister-in-law, and dear friend whose life was centered around love, family, and togetherness.
For 47 years, she shared a marriage with the love of her life, building a home filled with family gatherings, and fun family memories. Together they raised three children who were the pride and joy of her life. She also shared a remarkable and special bond with her mother-in-law, with whom she lived for more than 37 years. Their relationship grew far beyond family ties and became one of deep friendship, care, and mutual love.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures — cooking her favorite meals, completing crossword puzzles, playing horseshoes, dominos, and cards, watching her favorite soap operas and television shows, and taking fun trips to the casino with her brother, Ramon (Ray) Jr. More than anything, she treasured time spent surrounded by her family during holidays, celebrations, and special occasions where her soft laughter and loving spirit brought joy to others.
Of all the roles she held in life, the one she cherished most was being a grandmother to her four beloved grandbabies. Nothing made her happier than receiving their hugs and kisses, hearing their laughter, and watching them play. Her face would light up whenever they walked into the room, and the love she had for them was endless and unconditional.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, devotion, and family unity that will continue to live on through her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who were blessed to know her. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of those she loved most.
