Mildred L. Jones

Born in Poughkeepsie, New York on October 7, 1927 to the late Anna Hein Langert and Anthony Langert, as well as her late siblings Arthur, Rose, Dorothy and their spouses. She was also predeceased by her loving husband, Elmer H. Jones and her son Eric David Jones. She is survived by her daughter Janet Johnson and husband Glenn, daughter-in-law Lisa Cataldo, grandchildren, Melissa McNeely, Benjamin Johnson (wife Stephanie), Jillene Johnson and great granddaughter Hatten Johnson.

Millie attended Earlham College and worked at the Visiting Nurses Association in New Haven until moving to Killingworth in 1969. She became a literacy volunteer and tutored several students, was an avid reader, enjoyed bridge, scrabble, weekly bible studies and many vacations at the family farm in PA. She also followed the Boston Red Socks and UConn Huskies women’s basketball. She will be so missed by many, especially her daughter, and remembered for her gentle spirit and kindness.

The burial was held privately at Evergreen Cemetery in Killingworth. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Christ Chapel in Madison CT.
