Richard L. Darin

.DARIN, RICHARD, L. of Killingworth, died Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Middlesex Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Patricia M. Darin. He was born on March 3, 1931, in New Haven, son of the late Victor L. Darin Sr. and Philomena Ferriola Darin. He was a Master Carpenter and Building Contractor/Superintendent for National Lumber of North Haven for over fifty years. He is survived by his wife, Patricia McGibney Darin, brother, Victor L. Darin Jr. and his wife Rosemarie of Branford, CT, son Richard M. Darin and his wife Holly Q. Darin of Killingworth, son Mark E. Darin of Killingworth, six grandchildren, Alisha, Margaret, Emily, Elizabeth, Richard and Mary, as well as several nieces and nephews. His passion was his family and he loved spending time with his sons and grandchildren, building their homes, taking trips to Rhode Island, Italian cooking and other family activities. He led his life as an example to us of love and commitment to his wife Pat, his mother and father and his best friend and brother Victor. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church, Hemlock Drive, Killingworth, burial will follow in Westbrook at Resurrection Cemetery.
