Stephen Louis Fabian

Stephen Fabian of Moodus, Connecticut, tragically died on Sunday August 8, 2021 at the age of 59. Stephen was the husband of Duangporn Jaturat-Fabian, stepfather of Sonja Jaturat, son of Paula Hughes and the late Louis Fabian, brother of Shelly Hepburn, Julie Fabian, James Fabian, Damian Hughes and uncle of Gillian Hepburn, Spencer Hepburn, James Hepburn, Georgia Cooper, Merle Cooper, William Cooper, Nicholas Fabian. Best friend of Dana Pitts.

Stephen was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan on September 18, 1961.

Stephen had a love for jet skiing on the Connecticut River and there is where his life ended doing what he loved.

Stephen had resided in Connecticut with his family since 1976 after spending his younger years in the suburbs of Detroit Michigan, where he attended school and played hockey on Gordy Howe Ice Hockey teams traveling throughout Michigan, Ohio and Canada. Stephen loved hockey and lost his front teeth by a projected puck to prove it at the age of twelve.

After moving to Connecticut in 1976 Stephen completed his education, graduating from

Old Saybrook, Highschool, and years later attended nursing school at Middlesex Community College in Middletown.

Stephen became a nurse after many years of working in construction and home remodeling in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Stephen’s nursing career included working as a nurse locally and being a volunteer in a medical unit for FEMA in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina in 2005. Stephen was always there to help a friend or a person in need. He had great compassion and caring for others, A quality all good nurses possess.

It’s ironic his death occurred on the Connecticut River, where he once rescued a boater from a collision accident and performed CPR until EMS arrived.

Stephen was a patriot and loved his country. He proudly served his country in the Connecticut National Guard.

Even though Stephen was taken too soon, he lived an active life and was surrounded by those that loved him, especially his family, his long- time friend Dana and his black Labradors, Ruth and George (Puppy).

Stephen will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Lives are like rivers; Eventually they go where they must. Not where we want them to.
