William Gibson

William Kernan Gibson, 64, husband of Maggie (Margaret) Gibson of Westbrook passed on December 8, 2013 at Smilow Cancer Center after a yearlong fight. He was born June 13, 1949 in Providence, RI to Frank Gibson and the late Janice Kernan Gibson. He grew up in Madison and attended the University of Connecticut. He was employed as a salesman at Hale Propeller in Old Saybrook for the last ten years and prior to that his work always involved the marine industry. His family had owned the King George in Madison. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Gibson and sister in law, Jane and nephew Robert all residing in Colorado along with his pal Sadie Mae and many good friends and other relatives. Gratitude goes to all the staff at Smilow Cancer Center in Guilford with a very special thanks to his nurse, Cheryl. Thank you also to the staff at Smilow in New Haven allowing him safe passage.

He will be remembered for many reasons including his unpretentious manner and quick wit. Particularly, he would like you to remember him when you sit down to read a good book.
