

Bill was predeceased by his parents William R and Margery C Scully.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda Leissner Scully and his four children - Tricia Scully of Clinton, Maureen Scully Tranquilli (Edwin) of North Branford, William P. Scully (Tina) of Clinton (and their mother Patricia Whiteman) and his son Timothy P. Scully (Melissa) of Clinton and step-children - Jeffrey Jones (Lisa) and Diane Royea (Lester) both of Clinton. Bill has nine grandchildren - Jade, Joey, Nicholas, Nathan, Billy, Sean, Brendan, Finn and Declan. He also leaves 3 brothers: Robert Scully of Stuart, FL, Peter Scully (Deb) of Hamden, Michael (Joanne) Scully of Saunderstown, RI and two sisters Kathleen Scully Capuciati (Peter) of Deep River and Jane Scully Welch (Tom) of Clinton. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and devoted friends (especially his faithful friend, Paul Taylor) who will all miss him as well.
Bill was a 1956 graduate of the Morgan School and played basketball under Norm Drew. He then served honorably for four years in the US Air Force. He came home to Clinton and joined the Clinton Police Department in 1961. He was a well respected Police Officer who served with the CPD until 1976. After serving with distinction for many years, he retired from the CPD to help run the family business (Scully's) after his father died.
He will be remembered by many as an avid softball player in the men's league, his love of the old Country - Ireland, his many visits there, his love of St Patty's Day at Bill's Seafood and by his warm personality and infectious smile in the store. Visitation will be Thursday January 5, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. at the Swan Funeral Home 80 East Main Street Clinton. A Graveside Service with military honors will be Friday January 6, 2012 at 10 a.m. in Beaver Brook Cemetery Rte 145 Clinton.
