Alice Rose Sholy, age 90, of Clinton Township, MI passed away on September 27, 2021. She is the beloved wife of Ray Sholy for 69 years; loving mother of Angie (Rick) Corbeil, Mark (Barbara) Sholy and the late Judith (Mike) Stefaniak; cherished grandmother of Paula Corbeil, Jason (Cassandra) Sholy, Jennifer (Bob) Juhnke, Jeffrey Sholy, and Kevin (Danielle) Corbeil, and great-grandmother to Tyler, Briella, Adriana, and Maverick; dear sister of Ted (Kitty) Podsiadly and Trudy (Kris) Christ. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Stephanie Podsiadly.
Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed entertaining and hosting parties for family and friends. Alice also enjoyed traveling throughout the years, crafting, making candy and baking. Her family and friends always enjoyed Alice’s excellent cooking. Alice maintained a lively social life by remaining active with the Clinton Township Senior Center, and would participate in the events at the center, their aerobics program, and senior bus tours. She was also very active at St. Mark Catholic Church in the Altar Society and was a secretary for a number of years. Alice was a beautiful and caring person to everyone and will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 from 2-8 PM, with a scripture service at 7 PM, at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, MI. An instate will follow Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 9:00 AM until time of funeral mass at 9:30 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 40501 Hayes Road, Sterling Heights, MI. Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Alice’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
