Benjamin Bautista Laureta Jr., age 56, youngest son of Norma and Benjamin Laureta Sr., passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025 at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital at 12:01 am surrounded with love and devotion by his 3 eldest sons. Born in Manila, Philippines, on November 20, 1968, Benjamin attended Air Link International Aviation College and majored in Aircraft Maintenance. He has worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 15 years at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital. He was known to many as the “light that brightens the room.” He fervently enjoyed working on cars, eating at buffets with his children, drinking Diet Pepsi, watching videos of the Philippines, and above all else, being surrounded by family. He made many sacrifices in life, the biggest being leaving the Philippines to come to the US to help support his parents as a teenager. God was with him through every step of his journey, blessing him with a big family and ensuring he was protected in spirit.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Norma Bautista and Benjamin Laureta Sr.. He is survived by his five children: Kevin, Calvin, Jereme, Jeannamarie, and Cameron; one grandson, Kaden, with an expected second grandson in December; his three siblings: Walter, Roger, and Teresa; and his many nieces and nephews.
A private viewing will be held at Kaul Funeral Home on September 14, 2025 for immediate family members only out of respect for the deceased’s wishes. The Lauretas request that Benjamin is remembered by his powerful laughter, his youthful spirit and that prayers are sent on his behalf. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience that will never be forgotten. May God continue to guide him in heaven and may he finally rest in peace.
