Betty D’Ambrosio passed away on February 7, 2020 at the age of 83. She was born in Summersville, West Virginia to Macel and Orville Brown. Betty’s friendly and outgoing nature helped her to be crowned the Richwood Summit Queen in 1960 and the Roseburg Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Valentine Queen in 1965. Betty had many different jobs over the years but was best known as an Optical Assistant for Fraser Optical and JC Penny Optical. She was a loving mother and grandmother, enjoyed gardening and Facebook, and loved taking care of her birds ("the bird lady").
Betty is survived by her children Joseph (Suzanne) D’Ambrosio and Lisa (Jeff) Meldrum. Her grandchildren Thomas (Caitlin) D’Ambrosio, Jonathan D’Ambrosio, Rosemary D’Ambrosio, Maria D’Ambrosio, Jacob Kern, Aaron Kern, Mallory Kern, and Jaclyn Meldrum. Her brothers Joseph (Dreama) Pontier, Sam (Ruth) Pontier, and Dino (Sylvia) Pontier.
A Memorial Visitation for Betty will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 12:00pm until 3:00pm with a Memorial Service at 3:00pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township, Michigan. In memory of Betty, donations are appreciated to the American Heart Association.
