Darlene Rutkowski, age 74, of Clinton Township, passed away Thursday, September 4th, 2025. Darlene was born on August 25, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Thomas and Lois Sexton.
In 1973, Darlene worked as a Chemical Lab Technician in Detroit, where she met and married Mark Rutkowski. She followed and supported him in his Naval career of 20 years. She worked in retail stores in the various cities they lived in. Darlene enriched the lives of everyone she met with her kind and caring words, her smile and her deeds. She always took the time to talk and connect with strangers no matter where she was or what she was doing. Children in stores were instantly attracted to her. She was the oldest of her seven siblings. Darlene had a passion for taking in abused felines and giving them so much love. She loved Holiday decorating during Christmas her home became a festive masterpiece second to none. Darlene was loved by so many and will be missed deeply.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Mark, and her brothers, James, Gail, Daniel, Michael.
A memorial visitation for Evelyn will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 6:00 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Ave., Clinton Township, Michigan 48035.
