Elaine S. Anson

Elaine S. Anson, 89, passed away surrounded by her family on December 11, 2015 in Detroit, Michigan. Elaine was born on July 14, 1926 to Charles John and Pearl Irene (Sausle) Larson in Detroit, Michigan. Elaine was rushing to meet a streetcar and was ready to give up and wait for the next one to come along. Encouraged by a friend that they could still catch the car in front of them they managed to get on board. As fate would have it she met her future husband, Benjamin R. Anson on that very streetcar ! They married on October 27, 1945. Together they raised their two children in Warren and East Detroit (now Eastpointe). Prior to having children, Elaine was a "Rosie the Riveter during World War II working for Bundy Tubing. She returned to the manufacturing working world after her children were older. On February 20, 1977 Elaine's husband passed away at the young age of 54. Surviving Elaine are her son, Benjamin Charles (Nancy) Anson; daughter, Sandra Anson, grandchildren, Dawn Marie (Chad) Fuller, Ben (Margaret) Anson, Jr. and Jason (Stacy) Anson; great-grandchildren Chad, Zachary, Topanga, Bailey and Braylon; and sister, Mary Lou Thibodeaux. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Anson was pre-deceased by a sister, Bernice MacArthur.

Friends may visit on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m.at Resurrection Funeral Home 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038. The funeral will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, Rev. Ronald Zettle from Christ Community Church, Roseville, Michigan presiding.
