Eric A. Winkler, age 37, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021. He was the loving husband of Michelle Winkler for four years. He was the beloved son of the late Ronald Winkler and Marianne (Daniel Shifflett) Winkler. He was the dear brother of Keri (Cole) Phillips. He was the cherished uncle of Tait and Phoebe. He was the caring nephew of Judy (Colin) Valin, Charlotte Todis, and Gary (Marion) Winkler. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Karen and Dennis Klein; brother-in-law Craig Klein; and many cousins.
Together Eric and Michelle enjoyed taking walks and camping out with their dog Rosie. He was a band member of the Detroit Pony Express and opened for Peter Frampton at the DTE Theater. Along with his musical talents, he can also be found on screen. Eric appears in a few different movies as an extra that were filmed in Detroit. He enjoyed taking trips up north, improving his cooking skills, and watching as many college and NFL football games that he could.
A visitation for Eric will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. A Funeral Mass will occur on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 9:30 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 40501 Hayes Road in Sterling Heights. Friends may visit the church on Saturday at 9:00 AM.
