Born on July 9,1935 in Harriman, Tennessee, Frances took charge of a life of quiet determination. She flourished in the wild Poland hollow, raising her brothers and supporting her family. Lovingly known as “Nita,” she found her way to Michigan where she married Lawrence J. Peck on July 28th, 1956.
Her beautiful life was centered around her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment: being a wife and mother. She poured her love into her husband, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her home was a place of laughter, warmth, unconditional love, delicious food and treats, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of all she touched.
Nita found deep faith as a Catholic, which guided her every step. She embodied the virtues of wisdom, strength, and selflessness. You could see the kindness of her soul in the way she supported her loved ones. Mama was the heart and soul of our family, the one who held us all together, with her boundless love, and infectious laughter.
Frances’s life was a beautiful testament to faith and family. She carried herself with dignity and pride.
Frances is now reunited with those she loved who passed before her: parents Harlen and Rowena, brother Kenneth, grandmother Sara Elizabeth, granddaughter Alexandra and great granddaughter Louella, and many other cherished family members. She is survived by her adored husband Lawrence J. Peck; her loving children Cindy (John) Merandi, Karen (David) Golemba, Michelle Rubino, and Stacey (Tom) Peak; cherished grandchildren Rachel (Scott), Vanessa (August), Johnny, Valerie (Chadd), Whitney (Joe), Carter, Gracie, Emiley, Sara, Mason; and seventeen beloved great-grandchildren.
No doubt, she’s already planning the next great celebration in heaven.
A Poem from her daughters:
If Roses Grow In Heaven
If roses grow in heaven lord,
please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from me.
Tell her that I love and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there’s an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
