Mrs. Gertrude Edith O’Connell , formally of Romeo, age 74 passed away May 19, 2010 in Chandler, AZ . She was born in Houghton, MI. August 16, 1935. She worked most of her life as an accountant with her husband, retiring in 1999. Mrs. O’Connell was a member of Sun Lakes Golf Club, and enjoyed playing the piano and the organ. She loved photography and golfing. She is survived by her husband James; children James (Pam), Shannon (Mike) Persaud, and Gregory (Linda); grandchildren Kelly (Mike), Sandy (Kurt), Melissa, Jamie (Markis), Christopher (Jessica), Scott, and Sam, great grandchild Cameron; siblings Frank, Arthur (Jean), and Marlene. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 10:00AM at St. Paul of Tarsus Church (Romeo Plank at Canal). Visitation Monday 4-8:00PM at Resurrection Funeral Home 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, with a Rosary Monday evening at 6:30PM. Additional visitation at the church Tuesday 9:30AM to 10:00AM.
