I would like to offer my deep condolences to Jean's family and everyone close to her.

I had the pleasure of working for a brief, but intense period with Jean last winter.  Her contributions and leadership were appreciated by everyone.  What was remarkable was her ability to bring common sense to bear in tense situations; a skill that brought peace where there was conflict.  This had a significant and positive impact on everyone involved.  She will be missed.

Jean  there's so much to say and feel about my once-in-a-lifetime friend, Jean.  We met in 1993 at a hiking spa in Utah where Jean was getting ready to celebrate her 40th birthday.  We became fast friends and this was the start of one of the best friendships of my life.  Shortly after we met, Jean came to my home in Manhattan for what was the first of many visits every year ever since.  She always wrote thank you notes and signed the first one From your Scorpio Buddy, a phrase that we used with each other over the years.  Since that time we have celebrated many life milestones together and shared many of life's joys and challenges.  We planned to grow old together.

There are many reasons I loved Jean and there was so much to admire.  She knew without a doubt, even more so later on, what was important to her.  Over the last year, each time we spoke and I asked how things were going; she would always say, all the important things are good.  She had developed a newfound peace with life and cherished every moment with her family, and friends.

Yes, she knew what was important and knew what she liked!  Green  she was very clear that green was her favorite color.  Gold - never silver and don't mix the two.  TV - leave it on and loud please.  Pictures  frankly, I have to admit that I used to sometimes get irritated at the volume but oh what I wouldn't give for just one more picture with her.  Quality  Jean didn't skimp on quality, ever, and had an eye for the aesthetically beautiful and elegant  clothes (Armani), jewelry (diamonds), home furnishings and art (we selected quite a few gorgeous furnishings together during travel and NYC trips), beauty and spa services (finally got her to be okay with a bad hair day for a Central Park walk).  Health and fitness  she executed, I talked, making it even more unbelievable that this seemingly strong and invincible person could be gone.   Entertainment  live music/shows/theater, good food, blockbuster movies.  Travel  the next trip was always planned whether international, domestic, or long weekends with me in NYC or Naples (our next together was Nashville for the CMA Awards, coupled with Memphis so Jean could see Elvis' house).  Jean was the ultimate planner and expert packer. I have her packing lesson on video (when we went 3 weeks to China/Thailand for my 50th, and from cold to hot, I was instructed only carryon' and she showed me how to be successful  what an incredible trip she planned with her Asia connections!). There are so many favorites and other things that will always cause me to pause and think of her  I will cherish those thoughts and memories as they come.

Jean was eternally loyal and exceptionally generous  I couldn't have asked for a better friend.  We had countless late night deep-to-the-bones conversations about life, family, friends, work, finances, health  you name it.  She was savvy about business and personal matters and generous with her advice, counsel and listening.  We talked a lot about what success looked like  career and personal.  She always had a view.  To figure out how to get something done thoroughly, with great attention to detail and with high quality  Jean's your gal.  One of the things I admired most about Jean must have served her very well at the end  her ability to absorb critical facts and her decisiveness.  She had the unique ability to obtain sufficient high-quality information, understand what was right for her, make a decision and not look back.  

As we've gone through her last two months, so many people who met Jean through me have reached out with sympathies for me and to extend to her family.  She really did touch people in a memorable way and I was happy to be the funnel through which she made some lifelong friends and some whom she touched with just a visit.  My family and NY friends, who later also became her friends, had great affection for her.  I will keep her memory alive through those people, along with her friends, many of who became my friends over the years - and for the family she loved so dearly.

I'm not sure how I'm supposed to grow old without Jean.  It wasn't supposed to be this way.   We had plans for retirement' life  and fortunately never waited for retirement to do anything that interested us.  One thing is for certain, as I reflect on Jean's life and our friendship, hear from mutual friends and read what others wrote about her these last weeks - her life makes me want to be a better person and I can only imagine how loved she would feel knowing time and energy she put into all of these relationships was felt in such a deeply heartfelt way.

I had the opportunity to be a part of Jean's life for over 25 years. During that time we became very close while I managed her household. She is my adopted mother and I will miss her terribly. She has provided excellent counsel for making life's big decisions, being the knowledgeable person she was. She always dropped everything for me when I needed her help and was a great friend to all that knew her -including me.

I worked with Jean at TIAA.  We all have those extra special people in life we admire and say to ourselves, they are one of the very best I know.  Jean fit that bill for me.  She taught me a great deal and is a role model.  As she did in this world, she will make heaven a better place.

There is a hole in the world tonight....That is the best way we can describe the lost of such a kind, generous, energetic and talented contributor to society.  Jean was a rare gem and lived every moment to the fullest.  As a friend, one could ask no more, when needed she was there without hesitation good times or bad.  She is probably helping the angels to be more efficient already. I am truly sorry to learn of Jean's passing.  I had the good fortune of working with her at TIAA.  She was always such a tremendously energetic, industrious, supportive and loyal leader. I've never met a person who worked harder or smarter and yet somehow always had time for the people around her.

I met Jean when she started in her role at Bombardier, however only got to know her well in the last couple of years.
While at first glance, she could be intimidating, once you got to know her it was easy to see what a warm and caring person she was.
I have never met anyone more willing to spend time coaching and mentoring people. It was a true passion of hers, and she was an impactful coach.  Getting to know her on a personal level was wonderful, she was so much fun to be around, and had an ability to make you feel like you knew her forever, she was such a positive and upbeat person.

It is with sadness and disbelief that I write to express my sincere sorrow over the loss of your beloved family member, Jean.  I worked for Jean for the better part of six years from 1997 until late 2002.  I have been flooded with many wonderful memories since I learned the news of her passing.  

Jean was an extraordinary woman  smart, funny, thoughtful, kind and most importantly a loyal friend and colleague.  Among many of the memories that have come flooding back over the past several days are the many meetings that we had on our numerous drives out to her home in Bloomfield which was under construction when Jean first hired me as her Executive Assistant.  For anyone who has ever been a passenger in Jean's car, you will understand that there were times I could barely get out of the car upon arrival!  Jean was also a seasoned world traveler and there were countless drives to the airport as she headed off to London, India or Asia just to mention a few destinations.  I was always delighted by the fact that when I would call the Four Seasons in London to arrange for an early check-in, the person on the other end of the phone would, without missing a beat, say, Lovely, Jean will be staying with us!

Jean possessed a boundless energy and zest for life.  There were many moves around the Dearborn campus of the Ford Motor Company accompanied by many long days and late nights with pizza ordered in or dinner stopovers at La Shish on the way home.  Jean was an excellent listener and was never too busy to act as mentor, friend and confidante to anyone who sought her counsel.  She was extremely generous and never forgot a birthday or other special occasion.  Jean could be tough as nails when she needed to be but I would be remiss if I didn't mention the transformation I saw in her when your Mother would call.  She loved her family and even that ball of fur named Buffy!

One of my fondest memories of time spent with Jean was our trip to Australia in 2000.  Yes, I am the lucky girl who Jean chose to accompany her on that trip!  We shared many extraordinary moments during that week  from our first glimpse of the Sports Illustrated Millennium Marquee to ringside seats for the opening ceremonies for the 2000 Olympics, to dinner at the Bennelong Restaurant in the Sydney Opera House.  It was also a working trip for me and there were many nights that Jean and I were up catching up on email at 3 AM.  Still, it was a once in a lifetime experience and I am forever grateful to have accompanied Jean on that adventure.

Jean loved life.  Her smile lit up every room she entered and made anyone who met her feel instantly at ease.  People come and go from one's life and I regret that Jean and I lost touch with one another in recent years.  I will never forget the years that we worked together and the example she set for myself and others in the way she lived her life with passion and grace.

I worked with Jean in Ford Global Purchasing where we travelled to numerous international locations.  The team would arrive early in the morning and when the meeting started a few hours later Jean would appear -- immaculate dress, hair, and makeup, plus glittering diamonds -- always looking and acting the consummate professional.

She was a results-oriented leader and a charming person who cared about people.  It was a pleasure to have known her as a colleague and a friend.

Jean touched so many of us while here in Rockford, Illinois working onsite for Bombardier. I will remember her words of advice, she guided me professionally and in my personal life. She took the time out to celebrate when we achieved goals and truly made us feel proud of our accomplishments. She was so great at taking photos and then sending them to everyone afterwards. I feel blessed to have had the time I did with Jean.

Jean left us too soon.  I am still in shock.  I had the chance to be Jean's administrative assistant at Bombardier for 2 years.  She was such a mentor, a true inspiration.   She never failed to celebrate an occasion for each and all the members of her team. A card was always accompanied by a letter with kind words and wisdom. She took enough pictures to fill in an album!

Her professionalism and personality made us appreciate the leader and charismatic person she was.  She had a direct way to express her thoughts and ideas, but she was always kind and thoughtful. She was a woman with opinions and she had the strength to fight for what she believed in.  

I was very lucky to have her cross my path.  Her souvenir will live with me forever.  My deepest condolences to all of her family and friends that I know she dearly loved.

Jean's passing leaves a huge void.  She was an accomplished professional who achieved great things in her own right and served as a role model for a large number of her followers to emulate.  Jean was an inspiration and an enabler in helping others become successful.  For those of us who were fortunate to know her personally, she was warm, caring and engaging.  Jean dedicated time and energy to her spiritual growth; in her presence, you could feel that she enjoyed her inner peace.  Jean is beloved and admired by those of us whose lives she touched. and she is sorely missed.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Jean's passing. I had the opportunity to work with Jean at Bombardier, and I learned so much from her. She was always sharing her knowledge and experience. She was truly one of, if not the most, influential people in my career.

I had the opportunity to work with Jean over two separate periods when she was Executive Director Purchasing and I was Finance Controller.  She was a warm, generous and caring person who always took time out for people.  She had presence - and grace, and touched all of us who had the privilege to work with, or for her.  She will be greatly missed.

Jean was an incredible mentor and friend to me for the past three years. She took a special interest in my career, and gave me honest advice I know she would have given to her nieces and nephews, whom she always talked so lovingly about. 

While facing a difficult decision last year, she gave me a piece of advice that I will always carry with me: "when weighing your options, always give your personal life double-weight". 

Words can't describe how sad I am that this special person won't attend my wedding in less than two months - we had talked over details many times, and she was the first person to give me a bridal shower gift. Her wonderful spirit will be dearly missed by both myself and my fiancé. 

A note her to her family  she loved you fiercely, glowed when talking about you, and was immensely proud of you. I am so very sorry for your loss.

This is so sad. My dearest and best friend Carla cleaned for Jean for many many years. I never had the chance to meet Jean, but I heard so many good things about her. I met Jean at the Reboot for Life seminar in Santa Fe, NM in August 2011. When we were asked to state why we were there, as we introduced ourselves Jean's comment was (with her sense of humor), "I have no idea, Cathy made me do it". We all cracked up. This was the beginning of a great friendship with Jean and a remarkable group of ten women. Jean always portrayed such elegance and grace.  She was a no nonsense person with a quick wit and warmth and caring for all.  She was not only the group's photographer, documenting our annual reunions, but soon became the resident bartender. She loved her family, her friends and life. I will miss her voice on our calls, her notes with the photos she sent and her smiling face at our reunions.

I met Jean for the first time when she came on a business trip to Ford in Germany. She impressed and inspired all of us: as one of the first female senior executive, as a - sometimes very! - outspoken and courageous woman, and much later, when I workend in the US and she was assigned to me as my mentor, I learned that she was also a wonderful person to be with. Jean was a role model for many of us,  her sharpness, her pragmatism in business and in life, her confidence, her generosity and, not to forget, her sense of fashion, inspired us to just become better -  not only as female professionals, but also as colleagues, as mentors and friends. My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to Jean's entire family - she will be deeply missed.

I met Jean 17 years ago when I first joined Ford. A group of women used to go to Buddy's Pizza in Dearborn and "fix" Ford, the auto business, men...you know...all the impossible tasks.  I remember Jean's amazing laugh...her sense of humor....her "philosophical balance"....her knowledge about the world (since she traveled so much for Ford)....her sparkly diamond earrings.  After we both left Ford, we kept in touch, most recently when she served on the board of Ogin, a Kleiner Perkins start-up when I was the Operating Partner at KP.  Classy, beautiful woman.   She will be greatly missed.

Jean and I worked together as Executive Directors in Ford Motor Company Purchasing with offices only a few doors apart. She was always willing to teach, counsel and most importantly take on any assignment.
We both completed Ford Motor Company Capstone programs in the same group... I will miss her.

Jean and I become friends only 3 years ago at a Tony Robbins event and yet even on our first meeting, I felt like I had know her for many years.  Her generosity of spirit and kindness was so welcoming.  We got to share some great times together, like when she came for a visit to Arizona and our last trip to Chicago. We also had such wonderful long conversations on her drives back and forth to Rockford.  I will miss her so very much and I am so saddened we won't get to spend more time together. Jean was a very special person.  I offer my deepest sympathy to all of Jean's family, her many friends and colleagues .  I know the impact she made on my life in that short period of time, so I can only imagine the blessings she brought to everyone else. "Jean had boundless energy as a daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, executive and friend to so many!  She demonstrated her caring ways to her parents, siblings, step children, nieces and nephews, Buffy, Gracie and even to brother-in-laws (she had her special favorites!).  She gathered us up for family gatherings to P.F. Changs, Buca di Beppo, Famous Dave's, Cabin reunions, memorials, and of course, the Israel trip.  Always one to confide with for advice, she was an inspiration to her nieces and nephews. Her bread was like "manna from heaven" at our family gatherings! Never shy with the camera and this has provided lasting memories of her spirit and generosity to all of us.  She was a pleasure to be around and while we will surely miss her, she showed us all how to celebrate and to make and cherish loving memories".

I had the great privilege of meeting Jean exactly four years ago as a group, now known as the "Reboot Book & Wine Club" met in Santa Fe, NM.  Jean came somewhat reluctantly but joined her dearest friend Cathy for the retreat.   It turned out to be a wonderful and quick bonding of ten women and Jean quickly became of our great members.  Her wit, her wisdom, her thoughts, and her commitment to perfection, was appreciated by all.    Losing Jean will leave a big hole in our hearts and in our group...it is a gift to find a friend so late in life and I am truly grateful for having her in my life for four short years.

I can remember the first time I met Jean.  I was interviewing for a position at Ford and she was assigned to take me to lunch. Her super personality, enthusiasm, and authenticity was one of the reasons I joined Ford 17 years ago.  She was very much the role model for women in Purchasing at Ford.  She was always elegant, poised and extremely gracious. She will be missed. My codolenses to her family.

I had the priviledge of reporting to Jean for just a few years while at Ford and I learned a lot from watching the way she worked. I learned even more by watching the way she played, socialized, volunteered, coached and mentored. She was smart, funny, caring and just a bundle of energy. We lost touch over the past few years but I always think of her when driving near her home or when I have dealings with Ford folks. My sincere condolences to Jean's family. She was well loved.

I worked as Jean's Executive Assistant for many years at Ford Motor Company.  Jean was one of the most generous people I know.  She always brought me gifts when she traveled to Asia. A beautiful world globe that I see every day in my living room.  I remember how she ate yogurt and a boil egg every morning for breakfast.  She would get so mad when she would get one of those eggs that all the little egg shells would stick and make it impossible to peel without destroying the egg.  I would her here in there cussing at the egg.  I also remember her dedication to Ford Motor.  She would travel to 3-4 countries, fly back in to Detroit, run home, shower, and come back to the office.  Several times I would find her at her desk over her keyboard with her head slumped over and she had fallen asleep sitting up. She would never admit she had jetlag.  I took a picture once but she made me delete it.  She was a beautiful person inside and out and she will truly be missed.

Jean has been a presence in my life for over 25 years.  Always vibrant and so full of life, yet ready to spend time talking and checking in.  She was the organizing force behind so many birthday dinners and group photographs.  It is difficult to imagine not receiving any more little envelopes filled with photos and messages in that wonderful writing of hers.  Jean lived an amazing life giving to others.  perhaps this is her greatest gift to us -- always look out for the other person.  

To her family -- Jean spoke of you constantly with such love and pride.  You truly were the brightest spots in her life and she shared all of you with us. 

Her spirit will be with us always and I am so very grateful to have had her in my life.

I remember when I first met Jean many years ago at Ford, I was in awe of this smart, sharp female executive....I could never image the impact she would have on my life. We loved getting together for dinner, wine and therapy as we loved to call it. We laughed, gossiped, and supported each other through the highs and lows of life. Jean changed my life, and her energy surrounds me. She was one of a kind. Jean was my mentor, my advocate, and most importantly my friend. She was the glue that kept the 'girlfriends' together which was a beautiful gift to many of us. I have so many wonderful memories of time we spent together that will remain in my heart forever. While I am confident that I now have a very special angel looking out for me, I will miss Jean's love and friendship more than words can say.

So thankful to have known a woman with such class and confidence.  You were an inspiration to so many people. You will be forever missed Jean... I will never have anoth Grey Goose martini without thinking of you.  Miss you!

I met Jean at a weekend retreat that I was helping to facilitate. In our Reboot Your Life, weekend, I think Jean was the most transformed. She struck me as very clear in her thinking and goals. While maybe not knowing what she was going to do, she knew she was going to do it with style and success. 
Right after the retreat, she transitioned from full time employment to consulting for Bombardier. That gave her more flexibility and with more flexibility on her hands she had two goals. The first was to become a certified fitness instructor. How we envied her figure and her stamina in her late 50's to get through that rigorous training. Her second goal, was to become closer to her family. She decided to organize a family trip and reunion which helped reunite this now wonderfully close family, who were thankfully there for jean in the end. Jean you will be missed.

Amazing woman.  Glad to have the opportunity to know her and her family.  You could see in the way she talked about her family how much she loved them.  Very encouraging to the young professionals at UTC.  More than one time would take them out to dinner just to get to know them and give them any kind of personal or professional advice that they needed.  She will be missed and was loved very much.

So thankful that I had the opportunity to know you and work for you!  You were an amazing mentor and friend.  You had an incredible ability to make everyone around you feel special..when you were always the special one. Miss you!

Bill, Becky and the whole family....I am so sorry for your loss and want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

How lucky I was to know a beautiful woman who could make us all laugh, organize a great evening out, and understood (very well) how to build a car AND a plane...how rare and lovely. Am so happy to have met you through your beloved friend Cathy and so sad that you are suddenly gone.

You gathered your friends around you and made us all feel special. You kept us in touch and we will always think of you as strong, smart, beautiful and gone too soon. Jean we love you

We have also supported each other during life's more difficult times. While there is no question that I now have a very special angel looking out for me, I will miss Jean's love and friendship more than words can say.

We miss our trips, we miss your photos, we miss spending time with you and we miss your close friendship.  But our memories are forever strong and we are so glad you are no longer in pain.  We love you.

We lost a beautiful, smart and strong woman. Thanks for being a great aunt, mentor and role model for our children. We love you and miss you.
