Mr. Jeremiah Edward Harrington (Puupa), born September 4, 1912 died at home in Lexington, Michigan on June 23, 2011 at the age of 98 years. Jeremiah, son of Timothy and Hannah (Johnson) Harrington, was born on September 4, 1912 in Osceola, Michigan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 75 years Lilith Irene (Mendelin) Harrington, their 12 children and spouses, 23 grandchildren and spouses, 28 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister, Patricia MacQueen and sister-in-law, Martha Stojkov, both of Calumet, Michigan. Jeremiah was a Chrysler Corporation retiree since 1974, having been employed as a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering at Amplex Division. During World War II, he was a machinist at the Centerline Tank Arsenal. Jerry was an avid golfer, was commissioned as a Colonel on the staff of the Governor of Kentucky and signed on daily to Facebook as one of its oldest users. Jerry (Puupa) lived his life to the fullest. Despised idle time and was greatly loved by his family, friends and neighbors. Memorial Mass will be held on Monday June 27, 2011 at 11 A.M. at St. Edward on-the-lake Catholic Church 6945 Lake Shore Rd. Lake Port MI, 48059.
