Joanna was born on June 5, 1940 at Woman’s Hospital in Detroit, a daughter of Joseph and Anna (Mehall). She graduated from Girls Catholic High School in 1958. She worked as an Auditor at both Hudson’s Department Store and NBD Bank in Downtown Detroit.
On July 18, 1964 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Paul D. Totty. They initially settled in Detroit and for the past 46 yrs made Fraser her home.
She retired in 2006 from Macomb County after working as a Ward Clerk at Martha T. Berry, Medical Care Facility and Veteran Services.
She was a member of St. Pio Pietrelcina Church in Roseville. She enjoyed puzzles/word searches on her iPad, the nightly news broadcasts followed by Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
She is survived by her daughter Marie McCoy, son Paul Totty (Kim), granddaughters Clarissa McCoy-Lozen (Bryan), Brianna Totty, Riley Totty and great-grandson Johnny Lozen. 2 special nephews Mike Zelasko and Tim Totty along with friends and close neighbors who became her family. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Joe and husband Paul.
The family will greet guests from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a 7:00pm Rosary service on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd., Clinton Twp., Michigan. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00am with Instate at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Catholic Church, 18720 13 Mile Rd., Roseville, Michigan. Interment following at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp., Michigan.
