Jodie Rachelle Charbonneau, age 47, passed away on February 4, 2025, peacefully from cancer and joined her mother Irene, and grandmother Marie in heaven. Born on November 11, 1977, in Detroit, Michigan, to Irene Walsh and James Charbonneau, Jodie brought warmth and joy to all who knew her throughout her life journey.
In her early years, Jodie served as an inspiring poster child for the March of Dimes, where she met numerous Detroit celebrities and touched countless lives with her radiant spirit and smile. Her involvement helped bring hope and awareness to many families across the Detroit area about Spina Bifida. During her teen years at the Indian Trails Camp (ITC), Jodie formed lifelong friendships and created unforgettable memories.
She grew up camping with her family and as soon as we got to the park she was out socializing and hanging out with others.
Jodie was an aunt to Brittany, Christina, Brooklynn, Zachary, Marco, Shelby, and Bryce. She cherished every moment spent with her family, including her siblings: Jim Charbonneau (Michelle), Jennifer Janis (Craig), Jaime Moquin (Shan), Dana Charbonneau, and Amy Charbonneau. She was also lucky to have a wonderful step mom Diane Charbonneau and a bonus Dad with Bob (Banka) Walsh.
Jodie was surrounded by a large and loving extended family, including countless cousins, aunts, and uncles who showered her with love and support throughout her life. Her circle of friends, who became her chosen family, brought immense joy and companionship to her life.
Known for her sassy wit and wonderful sense of humor, Jodie could light up any room. She loved sharing stories and creating memories with the residents of East Harbor Village. Among Jodie's greatest pleasures were the peaceful hours spent crafting intricate diamond art pieces and her love for the color purple wasn't just a favorite shade, but a reflection of her spirit.
She could always be found enjoying her favorite WWE wrestling matches or catching the latest episode of Law & Order. Her playlist was never complete without her favorite artist, Jelly Roll, whose songs spoke to her heart.
Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her - family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
