Son of John William and Shirley Brewer. Those predeceased are his wife, Kathy Brewer; his dad, John William Brewer; and his sister, Shelley Brewer Mason. He is survived by his mother, Shirley Grzadzinski; his 3 nephews, Chris Mason, Erik Mason (Sade) and Kenny Mason (Tiffany); his cousins and friends. Family was very important to John and he always loved being with them. He was a very kind person who would help anyone in need.
After graduating from high school, John joined the Army where he was stationed in Germany for 3 years. He was very proud to serve his country and took it very seriously. He was a driver and didn't mind at all driving on the autobahn. While he was stationed in Germany, it gave him opportunities to travel, which was something he really enjoyed doing. Along with a guide and a few men, he got to climb a mountain in Germany. He also got to go swim in the Rhine river and climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower while he visited France.
After his return home from the Army, he would find work. Everyday along his commute to and from work, he would pass by a juggling club. He had always had an interest in juggling as a child, so he decided to join. It was there where he had met the love of his life, Kathy. They would go to different parks and recreation areas dressed as clowns, juggling and making balloon animals for the children.
Kathy's work would take them to Illinois where they made their home for many years. It was there where Kathy would sadly pass away from cancer. Eventually John sold their home and returned to Michigan with his dog, Tip and stayed with his mom and her husband, Gary. A little while later, he found an apartment nearby that he absolutely enjoyed until illness took his life.
He was loved and will be missed.
A memorial visitation for John and his father Bill will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 from Noon until 4:00 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, Michigan 48035.
