John spent much of his working years with Mother Waddles and later Finks Clothing Company before finishing his career as a spot welder at Hofley Manufacturing Company, where he proudly retired. Outside of work, John had a creative spirit and a knack for working with his hands. He was known for his incredibly detailed cake decorations - not every day cakes, but impressive creations like spaceships, battleships, and forklifts.
John also had a special love for Halloween. From making costumes to decorating, he embraced the entire holiday with enthusiasm and creativity. Later in life, he found a new passion in woodworking. His handcrafted canes became his signature - not only were they practical, but they were works of art, made with care.
Beyond his talents, John will be remembered for his listening ear and wise advice. He had a way of making people feel heard, and often shared his famous saying “You know what you oughta do is …….” His strength, creativity, and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
