He was born on May 19, 1929 in Ilasco, Missouri to John, Sr. and Mary (nee Bozalka) Krudy. He proudly served his country with the Navy from 1946 until 1950. John was known to be a wonderful teacher and mentor among the teachers and students at Roseville Public Schools and at Macomb Community College, where he went on to become an Associate Dean. He was married to Ethel (nee Sabol) for 67 years until her passing on April 15, 2024. He was a quiet gentle giant who was proud of his Slovak nationality.
John enjoyed golfing and outings to the casino, along with family camping trips and fishing. He could often be found "keeping up the house and lawn", repairing things along the way. While Ethel may have been known for having the best crust on her strawberry rhubarb pies and her amazing Manhattan's, John certainly gave her a run with making kielbasa. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Loving father of Paul (Cindy) Krudy, Lydia (Robert) Zwarka, and Deborah Krudy; proud grandpa of Lauren (Jonathan), John, Alyssa (Jordan) Emily, Daniel (Lyss), Leah (Brenner), Allison, Andrea, and Mark; great-grandpa of Aubrey, Hudsen, Landen, Levi, and Vigo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in passing by his wife, Ethel, the love of his life; parents, John, Sr. and Mary; and sister, MaryAnn Balaska.
