Joyce was a devoted single mother of seven, who lovingly took on the role of both mother and father for her children. She was a determined, independent woman who never shied away from doing things herself. Her resilience and unwavering dedication were an inspiration to her family and friends. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. In her younger years, Joyce had a passion for roller skating. She and her sister competed in roller-skating competitions, and she even her first job was as a car-hop on roller skates—showcasing her adventurous spirit and zest for life. She loved playing bingo, taking trips to the casino, and being surrounded by her family and friends. Her birthday was always a special occasion—she delighted in celebrating it with a party filled with laughter, love, and togetherness. Over the years, Joyce delighted in her fondness for animals and enjoyed the companionship of many pet cats and dogs. Joyce’s legacy lives on in the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the family she cherished so deeply. She will be forever missed and always remembered.
Joyce was beloved mother of Leonard Wilde (Kim), Tammy Hipsley (Keith), Dawn Starosta, William Wilde (Darcy), Edward Wilde, and Madonna Bowman (Ken); Cherished grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; Dear sister of Marie Stackowiak. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 2-8 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Twp, Michigan 48038. A brief gathering will follow on Friday July 11, 2025 at 10 AM, until time of funeral service at 10:30 AM also at Resurrection Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp following the funeral home service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
