Julia graduated from our Special Education Program at Michigan State University.  She returned to MSU to begin her MA work. I had the great fortune to have Julia in my literacy methods class during her Internship year.  I was proud beyond words of Julia's work.  It was evident that some people are able to connect with others who struggle in ways that are difficult to define.  Julia was this kind of teacher.  I know that Julia's students were very lucky to have her in their life.  I am so sorry for your loss.

Julia was a student in my course this semester.  She was so smart, showed so much insight into teaching and kids, and was so kind and thoughtful.  It was easy to see how much she loved teaching and how fantastic she must be as a teacher.  I am so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful young woman.

Julia came into my life during my college years when I moved out to Okemos. She was my neighbor and being the outgoing person that she was she got to know everyone that lived around her including me. She had a way of bringing all types of people together in group. We ended up becoming good friends and never lost touch. She helped me see the good in people as well as the good within me. Not many people have impacted me in such a profound way as Julia did and I will never forget that. She was a truly amazing person and I am glad to have known her as a friend. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends; we will all miss her dearly.

I had the privilege of working with Julia as her cooperating teacher at Clintondale Middle School.  I was always impressed with Julia's passion for teaching, her ability to connect with students, and her ability to push students to reach their full potential. Julia vas such abeautiful young lady. She worked with my son scott who has severe Autism.She really seemed to know how to bring him out of his shell,and always treated him with  respect . We recall, and have wonderful memories of conversations regarding all of our "daughters" and the joy they provide! I recall a conversation when Danielle was leaving for her first year of college, and Julia had one year under her belt! Your words were very soothing and comforting! To family and friends of Julia:  Julia worked for LAP Respite Center as a care provider for children with disabilities while she was attending MSU.  Julia was a delight to work with.  She had an amazing energy and enthusiam for the work that she did.  She was loved by the families and children she worked with and respected by her co-workers.  The LAP family shares in grieving the loss of a fantastic young lady.

Julia truly was a light for so many people, and I haven't met many people as wonderful as she was. I've known her since 8th grade, and even though we didn't get to see each other much after high school, I always cherished our friendship. She was indeed gifted. I was stunned to hear of her death, but I rejoice at her beautiful life and marvel at the impact she made on so many people; she was a wonderful gift from God. She will be in my prayers and in the prayers of all here at Sacred Heart Major Seminary.

I met Julia briefly last August at her new employee orientation at National Louis. We connected briefly as we were both Michigan State graduates. I remember thinking how successful she was to be so young and already on faculty. Her family will be in my thoughts.
