Leo L. Borowicz, age 86, of Clinton Twp., passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018. He was born April 16, 1932 in Cheboygan, MI to Louis and Cecilia (nee Brovage) Borowicz. Leo grew up in Cheboygan and went to Cheboygan High School. In 1951, he married Joanne (nee Charboneau), who predeceased him. He then went to work at Buick Motors in Flint. In 1959 he went to work for Hydra-Lock, where he worked as a grinder and also built shipping boxes until he retired in 2017. He loved his family and like to travel, play cards, dance, go to the casino, spend time with family at the cabin “The B-Hive”, and looked forward to monthly family dinners and especially attending each family reunion.
In 1972, he married Virginia (nee Chenoski) Clubb who predeceased him in 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his four brothers: Ben, Paul, Steve, and Tom; and a granddaughter, Samantha.
In 2013 he married Joyce (nee Tillard) who survives; as well as his seven children: Arlene Daniel, Richard (Betty) Borowicz, Marguerite (Kevin) Hermance of Warren, MI, Danny (Linda) Borowicz of Roseville, MI, Mitchell (Kathryn) Borowicz, William“Bill” Borowicz of Hazel Park, MI and Dawn (Nabel) Daman of Sterling Heights, MI.
Also surviving are his sister-in-laws: Lorena (nee Dow) of Cheboygan, Joyce (nee McGovern) Borowicz of Swartz Creek, Joyce (nee Preseau) Borowicz of Burton; and four brothers: Joseph (Arlee) Borowicz, Edmund (Judy) Borowicz, Sylvester (Elaine) Borowicz, and David (Lorraine) Borowicz of Cheboygan, MI.
Leo has 11 step-children: Robert (Donna) Clubb, Thomas (Diane) Clubb, Robert (Janet) Charboneau, Randall Charboneau, Martin (Diane) Charboneau, John (Sharon) Charboneau, Betty (Danny) Stubak, Joseph Charboneau, Renee (Duane) Halkides, Gail (Leonard) Stopczynski, and Katy (Christopher) Resman; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Family will greet friends from 3:00pm-9:00pm on Monday, August 6 at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd., Clinton Twp. Rosary service at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 7 at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church, 41300 Romeo Plank Rd., Clinton Twp. In State from 9:30 until time of Mass.
