Linda was born on November 1, 1948, to Alton Radtke and Jean Brosseau, in Detroit. It was at Lutheran High School East that shy Linda met the love of her life, and gregarious, Roger DeMeyere. As opposite as ying and yang, they were married for 48 years and exemplified how great marriages work. Just marry your best friend and practice patience. They had two children, Kim and David.
Linda was always the “cool mom,” and their home was the fun house in the neighborhood. Whether she was bringing her children to see numerous concerts at Pine Knob or spending hours creating delicious meals in the kitchen, she loved to have her family close to her. Linda was an avid cleaner and it brought her intense satisfaction. She should have owned stock in Clorox bleach. Her house was beautifully decorated and could have been featured in home design magazines.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Alton Radtke and Jean Brosseau; her husband, Roger DeMeyere; and her aunts, Helen Goodrich and Betty Brosseau. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Phil Schick; her grandchildren, Micah and Jonah Schick; son and daughter-in-law, David and Jody DeMeyere; and grandpup, Olivinski.
Linda will be sorely missed. There will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, please listen to some Journey songs at top volume. Bonus points if you can sign along. Keep on “Rockin’ with Dokken!”
