Louis Robert Barrie passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lois Barrie; son, Christopher Barrie (Lisa); daughter, Brenda Laser (Michael); grandchildren: Andrew Jenkins, Isabel Barrie, Zeta Barrie, Soleil Barrie, Ryan Carrette, Sarah Carrette, Miah Laser, Micky Laser, and Bode Laser; great-grandchildren: Salem, Clementine, Wyatt; and sisters, Beverly Biegas (Paul) and Patrice Barrie. He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Barrie; mother, Christine Barrie; brother, Richard Barrie; sister, Simonne LaVigne; brother, Roger Barrie; and brother, Robert Barrie.
Louis was a Vietnam Veteran where he served in the Army. He was an active member of the VFW, Acorn Post 1669. He worked in skilled trades as a tinsmith for Chrysler where he retired after 30 years. Louie and Lois loved to travel and ride his motorcycle on trips. Louie loved to be active; he played hockey and softball in his younger years and was an avid bowler, golfer, and pool player. In his later years, he loved watching his grandchildren and attended as many of their events as he could. He will be remembered as a loving family man and a trusted friend. Louie will be deeply missed but lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family will greet guests from 2:00pm until 8:00pm with a 7:00pm memorial service on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd., Clinton Twp., Michigan.
Inurnment with military honors will take place at 2:00pm on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.
