Marg Rogers lived to be 93 years old. Born in Detroit, MI on April 29th, 1931 to parents, The late Joseph and The late Lucille Saynay, Marg is one of eleven siblings: The late Sr. Mary, The late Charlotte, The late Sr. Kris, Connie, The late Lillian (the late Dave), The late Barbara (the late Chuck), Rosalie (the late Bill), Bernie (Dick), Joe (Elaine) and Larry (Rosary).
She graduated from Dominican High School in Detroit and later moved-on to marry her loving husband, Eugene, who she met at a church teen club meeting. Marg and Eugene were married for almost 47 years before his passing in 2001. They had six children: Mark (Kathy), Gary, The late Christopher, Gene (Rose), Michael (The late Lynn) and Christine (The late Bob).
Marg is a grandma: Nicole (Jeremy), Kyle (Ashley), Robert (Alissa), Samantha and Arthur (Stacey). She is a great grandma: Jordan, Jenna, Jaden, Ava, Evie, Asher and Charlotte. Marg is a great-great grandma: Robert and Amara. Marg has one sister-in-law, Gloria (The late John).
Along with having so many brothers and sisters, came many nieces and nephews. She would always love sending birthday and holiday cards to family members, which kept her busy, given the numbers of people (family) involved. Her brothers and sisters, and their children did the same thing, so it was like a family tradition.
During Marg's married life, she was socially active in many activities: Church (Member of Christian Mothers and St. Thecla parish) and Lunchroom monitor at St. Thecla grade school, where her children attended. She enjoyed bowling (leagues, tournaments, moonlight doubles), playing Bingo and trips to the casino. Marg was a scorekeeper for her husband when he coached little league baseball teams for their kids. She often worked the polls during political elections.
Vocationally, Marg worked for the city of Clinton Township in two different capacities: The police department and the township offices - as a clerical support person. At one point, she and a friend began their own business selling office supplies out-of-her-home. First and foremost, however, she was a loving wife and mom (traditional homemaker).
As a traditional homemaker, Marg enjoyed baking and cooking. Sometimes the kids would eat her chocolate cakes before she had the chance to put icing on them. The cakes were that delicious!
Oftentimes, after making breakfast for her husband before he drove to work as a professional engineer, you could hear Eugene singing a Stevie Wonder song to her, "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life," as he went out to his car and waved good-bye to each other from the back door.
We honor you, Marg (mom), and we miss you! You will now be laid to rest next to your husband (dad), Eugene, to enjoy your place in your heavenly home. "Keep the faith" was one of your favorite phrases, borrowed from your uncle, The late Father Mike. You have kept the faith, and now may you rest in peace!
