Mary Ann Karpinski

Mary Ann Karpinski, age 76, passed away, surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 after a short illness. Mary was born on January 19, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Thomas & Margaret (nee Reuter) Gleason. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Harvey. She was a loving, caring, proud and hard-working wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (the late John E.) Casbar and Daughter-in-law Gail Karpinski. Her grandchildren, John A (Kai) Casbar, Michael Casbar, Lily Karpinski and Andrew and Megan Sweeney. Four great-grandchildren, Mikaia and Kailee Halty-Cupidore, Connor Casbar and Brayden Casbar. Mary is also survived by her brother Thomas P. Gleason, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her fur baby, Popeye. She was predeceased by her son Leon Karpinski.

Mary worked her entire career in the insurance industry, working mostly at Lucido Insurance Agency, until she retired. Mary was an active member of Mariner’s Boat Club and the Buoys Belles. She worked along side Harvey during the many catering and cooking activities for family and boat club activities.

Mary enjoyed playing cards and the lottery. A mass will be held in honor of Mary on Saturday, February 22nd at 11:00am at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church, 38775 Prentiss, Harrison Township, MI. There will be visitation starting at 10:00am until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in remembrance of Mary can be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
