Known for her outgoing nature, quick wit, and sassy charm, Nellie had a personality that lit up every room she entered. She was a woman who lived with joy, intention, and love—always striving to give the very best of herself to those around her. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she worked tirelessly throughout her life to provide for her family, never wavering in her commitment or her love.
Nellie had a deep love for music, and nothing brought her more joy than a good beat she could dance to. She often spoke fondly of “shimming” around the room, always ready to turn up the volume and let her spirit move. That same spirit carried into her love of animals—an animal lover through and through, she shared her life with many cherished pets, particularly dogs which she showed for most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Tony Burns, who passed away in 1979, and her second husband, Ronald Koch, who passed in 2013. Despite the losses she faced, Nellie’s strength and compassion never faded. Her greatest pride was her family, whom she loved deeply and selflessly. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, always finding joy in their milestones, laughter in their stories, and peace in their presence.
Nellie’s legacy is one of resilience, warmth, and an unwavering zest for life. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her kind heart, and the immeasurable love she gave to so many.
