Patricia Tignanelli

Patricia Tignanelli (Van De Velde) passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025 at age 88. She was married to Patrick Tignanelli, her High School sweetheart, for 66 years until his passing 2 years ago. Born to Marcel and Marcella Van De Velde, she was taught to be an excellent homemaker and mother. She instilled a strong work ethic and family first values raising three sons. She was Senior Class President of St. David High School in Detroit and excelled at various sports. Following graduation, she graduated from Hutzel Hospital Nursing Program and enjoyed her work as a Labor & Delivery Nurse at St. John’s Hospital for many years.

Pat loved nature and made sure family vacations were taken each Summer. Often dragging her husband and sons to one more waterfall or one more site that AAA Travel suggested. She was an accomplished seamstress, making leisure suits for her sons, a family Christening gown she made in 1958 is still used to this day for her Great Grandchildren’s Baptisms. Patricia loved arranging flowers and greens at Christmas. She was a great hostess, making sure everyone was served properly. When she offered appetizers to guests, she asked “do you want a nibble”!!!!

Family came first...she was proud of her sons, Greg (Ann), Joe (Adelicia), Bill (Laurie) and her Grandchildren, Rachel (Derek), Alissa (Jimmy), Andrew (Bridget), Jason, Carrie (Jay), Gina (Jeffery), Maggie (Sam), Kristen (Lance) and Justin (Sydnei). She was also the Dear Gigi to19 Great- Grandchildren. She was the loving sister of the late Richard (the late Beverly), the late Gerald (Faye) and James (Lila). She was loved by her late sister-in-law, Julia Presta’s family.

A visitation will be held at Resurrection Funeral Home, located at 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township, on December 8, 2025, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.
