

Richard A. Meier, age 75, of Macomb, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 27, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, to Arnold and Marguerite Meier.
Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Deborah Meier; his sons, Aaron (Jenny) Meier and Duane (Courtney) Meier; and his cherished grandchildren, Lillie, Aidan, Natalie, Brianna, and Zoe, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Martha List (Robert). Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard found joy in the outdoors and spent much of his life working with his hands. He was a dedicated landscaper who took great pride in his work, and he especially loved tending to his vegetable garden. An avid golfer, he enjoyed the game for both the challenge and the camaraderie it brought. He also enjoyed the fellowship and friendly competition he found in bowling, and played for many years with the City Lutheran and Eastside Lutheran Bowling Leagues. Above all, Richard adored his grandchildren and was their biggest supporter, faithfully cheering them on at baseball, basketball, and volleyball games.
A man of faith, Richard sang bass in the choir at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Macomb for many years, sharing his love of music and worship with his church family.
Services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 17051 24 Mile Rd., Macomb, MI 48042, on Thursday, January 29, 2026. A gathering will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.
Richard will be remembered for his kindness, his strong work ethic, his love of family, and the quiet joy he found in life’s simple moments. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
