

Rosemary K. Martens, age 86, of Royal Oak, Michigan, passed away on June 2, 2024. She is reunited with her husband, John Martens (2015), her daughter, Karen Ketchum, and siblings Jack Kuhn, Paul Kuhn, and Jerry Kuhn, who all preceded her in death. Rosemary leaves behind her loving siblings Joe Kuhn, Christine Kuhn Kramer, and James Kuhn, as well as her children Kathy Ghiata (Don), Terri Martens (Ed Hackett), Robert Martens, Karen Martens, and Phil Martens (Mary), along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rosemary had a passion for quilting, sharing her talents by gifting quilts to family and friends, including her famous crocheted washcloths and annual handmade Christmas ornaments. She spent many happy years in Oscoda, MI, working at the Hallmark store, where she nurtured her love for Precious Moments and special occasion Christmas ornaments. During her time in Panama City Beach, Florida, she enjoyed the camaraderie of her quilting group, Starbucks treats, and trips to Silver Sands and Pier Park. Rosemary also had a soft spot for her cats, especially her beloved Angel, who entertained her with a love for boxes. Rosemary was a woman of many talents and opinions, and she will be fondly remembered and missed by those who knew her.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Rosemary’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, 10:30 AM, at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, 2100 Twelve Mile Rd, Royal Oak, MI 48073. Light lunch following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosemary’s honor to an animal charity of the donor’s choice.
