He was born June 27, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan to Arthur and Mildred (nee Lagodna) Ciechanowski. Steve graduated from Harper Woods High School Class of 1974 and furthered his education at Macomb Community College. He worked for 52 years, starting at A&P and moved his way up through Farmer Jack and Kroger. He was a member of Retail Clerks AFL CIO. A devoted company man, he had the best work ethic that he passed along to his children.
Steve enjoyed all Detroit sport teams and was extremely happy to see Michigan win the National Championship AND the Detroit Lions win their first playoff game last week. He loved going to Disneyworld and the family cottage in Lexington, Michigan. Steve loved his two dogs, Cooper and Zoey, and became a "cat person".... even though he swore he would never like a cat. He enjoyed his morning coffee with Lucky ("Larry", as he called him) at the kitchen table before others woke up.
Steve is survived by his loving children: Kristen, Michele, and Nick; his brothers: Dennis (Debra), Paul (Jayne), David (Barbara), Carl (Julie), and Gary (Jackie); also by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father Arthur, mother Mildred, and step-mother Agnes.
Steve loved his family, worked hard throughout his life, and was a good man. He will be missed by everyone.
