Aunt Merle and family,  we are so very sad because you are not here with us.  But we are so happy and thankful you are home with Jesus and family, some you haven't seen in a long time.  You left precious memories here for us and when we think of you now we will see you walking with Jesus, no more pain, no more tears, no sorrow.  Just smiling, full of joy!  Enjoy your eternal life in your new home!!  Till we are togethet again!  Oh and please give Jesus and all the family hugs from us. Love you!!

Dear Merle,

Yesterday for the first time I had the courage to enter your condo, and yes there was a strong sense of peace as I traveled from the garage door to the front window to open your blinds and then to the door wall to do the same. I watered your out door garden, probably for the last time and then re-entered your old space in the living room. But you already knew that.
My life is richer having met you just a few years ago, and richer too through the many conversations we had about life, living and yes dying with dignity. There were a lot of laughs and a few cries here and there throughout those conversations. Whatever the topic, I walked away from your condo a little smarter and wiser.
And what about those ducks? They just could not stay away. Nice move on your part, it's as though you had it all planned. I think you did correction, I know you did.
Rest in peace my friend, no more pain, no more fear and you will be one of those people I look forward to meeting again.
May your family take comfort that you are in a much better place and with those who made the journey before you and that you will be there when it is their time.

Oh Veola, how I miss you already. You were such an amazingly strong and stubborn woman who took a piece of my heart with you. It has been a pleasure working close with you for the last couple of years. You will never be forgotten. Who's going to offer me candy every day? Who am I going to watch play solitaire during treatments? Who will offer me the perfect cleaning product? Who's blinds will I open at each visit? You have a special place in my heart forever, I will never forget you. To your family, I am very sorry for your loss of such an amazing woman. Please let your memories of her get you thru this rough time. "I love you" Veola. RIP.
