Mr. Vito G. Daniels (Daniele)

Mr. Vito G. Daniels (Daniele), age 82, died May 1, 2010. He was born August 30, 1927. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Vito retired from the Detroit Police Department, with the rank of Sergeant, where he served for 36 years, and continued working for many additional years in the security department at St. John Hospital. He was a compassionate, caring man and a mentor to many young police officers and to members of his large extended family. Vito’s passion was working in his yard, maintaining a meticulous lawn and house. He loved spending time with the family and his many dear friends. Devoted husband and caregiver to his wife of 57 years, Grace. Loving father of Joseph (Pamela) Daniele, Mark (Pamela) Daniele and David (Ken) Daniels. Cherished grandfather of Vito, Angela, Deanna (fiance, Mark Heverly) Vincent and Michael. Brother of Elizabeth Sanzica. Visitation Tuesday, 4-9 p.m. and Wednesday, 2-9 p.m. at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township. Instate 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass Thursday, May 6, 2010, 10 a.m. at St. Thecla Catholic Church, 20740 Nunneley, Clinton Township. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Red Cross or Alzheimer’s Research.
