

Bert Corwin Ewy was born July 2, 1928 at Hobart, Kiowa County, Oklahoma. He passed away on August 7, 2011 at his home in Clovis, which were his wishes. He was the son of Rudolph Jacob and Bertha Beatrice (McCullough) Ewy. Bert moved to Fresno, California in 1946. He graduated from Fresno Technical High in the class of 1948. He attended Central California Commercial College. He married Irma (Ima) Mae Tucker on May 19th, 1951 in Kingsburg, California. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 19th, 2011. Bert was an accountant for 30 years. Bert and his nephew Eugene C. Latham then went into business in 1972, establishing the Bertani Plumbing and Heating Company, Inc. In 1982, Bert became a Clovis Unified School Bus driver until his retirement in 1992. Bert was a Masonic member of Fresno Lodge 247 F. & A. M. Bert enjoyed many different sports, but especially hunting and camping with his family. Bert was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph Ewy & Bertha Ewy Dorman, three sisters, Pearl E. Carter, Ruby H. Moon and Leoma R. Garel, and his nephew Eugene C. Latham. He is survived by his son, Michael A. Ewy and his daughter Nancy L. Davis; four granddaughters, Leslie C. Ewy-Phelps, Jennifer L. Davis-Fearn, Michelle E. Ewy-De La Torre and Jessica L. Davis. Also surviving are five great grandchildren, Jack Davis-Fearn, Taylor Brown, Elizabeth Davis-Fearn, Alexander Davis-Fearn and Tyden Phelps. Funeral services were held August 11, 2011 at 9:30 am at the Boice Funeral Chapel in Clovis, California with burial in the Clovis Cemetery.
