She was known as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Betty always had a ready smile for everyone she met. She was kind, generous, loving and had many interests and talents. She was an accomplished artist and won an award for her Charcoal sketch of a Barn in High School and there was a write-up in the Coalinga Record where she grew up. Her Art was displayed at the Fresno Fair, and she would often do shows with Sally Seagall, and Donna Locati, her friends and well known artists in Fresno, California. She also was a wonderful jewelry designer and had adorned all of her family, friends and some acquaintances with beautiful and much cherished bracelets and necklaces. She touched the lives of many and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Betty's life was characterized by much love, talent and all the lives she touched with her kindness, warmth and generosity.
Betty is survived by her Husband of 69 years James Allen McKenzie, her four daughters; Kathy Tooms and husband Eric Tooms, Penny McKenzie, Kerry Cosby, Kelly Miller and husband Rick Miller; her brother David McHenry and wife Kathy McKenna and sister-in-law Sharon Mc Henry (wife of the late Larry McHenry). She will also be lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Wency McHenry and her brother Larry McHenry.
A Funeral Service for Betty will be held Monday, January 27, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
Following the Funeral Service, a Committal Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Redbank Cemetery, 11648 East Shaw Avenue, Clovis, California 93619.
