Earl Leroy Winter, age 92, of Fresno, California passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, after a brief illness. Earl was born in Denver, Colorado where he grew up with is mother, father, sister and brother. He graduated from Wheatridge High School in Denver and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for three years.
In May 1953, Earl married Johanna (Jo) Fisher and they continued living in Denver until May 1956 when they moved to California. They settled in Fresno with their three daughter until April 1969 when they moved to Prather, CA.
Family was the most important thing to Earl above everything else. After retiring from Safeway in 1988, he was excited to have more time to spend with family. Earl and Jo bought their first motorhome and spent many fun years traveling around with family and friends, playing in horseshoe tournaments and making unforgettable memories.
Earl is preceded in death by his wife, Johanna (Jo), parents, Charles and Helen, sister, Gwen Fisher, and brother, Paul.
He leaves behind three daughter: Sherrie Rippee of Prather, Sharon Reyes (Jerry), of Santa,ID, Karen Napier (John) of Tollhouse; grandchildren: Jessica Stevens, David Rippee (Mariah), Anthony Bonini, Angie Bonini (Scott), Bradley Reyes (Emily), and Brandy Carlock (Zach); great grandchildren: Kylei Uphoff (Troy), Kelsey O'Keefe, Kasey O'Keefe (Bradley), Tarrant Rippee, Haygen Kiser, Addi Kiser, Brooklynn and Braden Reyes, Kaston Butler; great-great grandchildren Emberly and Madilyn Uphoff;and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Earl will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 at 10:00 am at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
