Eddie was born on May 20, 1957, in Clovis, California. Eddie was a remarkable entrepreneur who built a legacy in the trucking and construction industries. He founded multiple successful businesses, including Dry Creek Construction and Piranha Pipe & Precast, always leading with determination, vision, and grit.
Eddie was known not only for his sharp business mind but for his warm, happy smile that rarely left his face. He had a gift for making people feel welcomed and appreciated—whether you were family, a friend, or sitting next to him at a slot machine.
He loved his family above all else, and his happiest moments were those spent around a table full of great food and laughing with the people he cared about most. He had a love for fast cars, playing on his favorite slot machines in Vegas and relaxing at the cabin in Shaver Lake.
Eddie is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Anita Simpson. Together they built a beautiful life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. He was a proud and loving father to Lea Meine (Daniel), Lyndi Souza (Kevin), Laurynn Pryor (Tyler), Travis Mathews (Clairessa), and Cortney Baker-Tyler (Anthony). He was also the best Papa to 11 grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Perrie, Jonah, and Toby Meine; Brody and Ellie Souza; Hayden Pryor; Tristen and Travis Jr (TJ) Mathews; and Davin, Briley, and Gage Baker-Tyler. He is also survived by his sister, Jenny Angelici, his aunt Jodie Everett, and his cousin, Cammy Barazani.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edwin R. Simpson and mother, Josie (Burks) Simpson of Clovis, California.
Eddie lived a life defined by hard work, love, laughter and unwavering strength. His smile and kind heart will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will remain with all who knew and loved him.
