IN MEMORY OF JAMES EDWARD FOWLER

Around 1981, early one morning as I was about to get off from working the midnight shift at the Albertson’s grocery store on Stony Point Rd. in Santa Rosa, CA, I met my friend, Gentleman Jim. He was on the health and beauty isle checking some on the many products he represented as a manufacturer’s sales representative.
That brief meeting with Jim inspired me to become a manufacturer’s sales representative. Not just because I wanted a career change, but because I wanted to be like Jim.
We became close friends and I met his lovely wife Shirley. Jim invited me to join the Sonoma Travelers club, made up of other male sales reps. We shared many good times.
My fond memories of Jim are numerous.  Out of Jim’s generosity, he built the supports and installed a basket ball backboard and hoop above our garage door. 
To me Jim was not just a great friend and fellow Manufactures rep. 
He is a role model and father figure leading by example of how decent men live their lives and for that I am truly thankful.

For Shirley and Family:
Jim - Thanks for all the wonderful memories and the kindnesses you and Shirley have shown to me and mine.  I will never forget our nighttime  raids of Santa Rosa rose gardens as we purloined roses for Frank senior's floats, or the fun family gatherings graced by Mom Brodie's savory cooking, and ......... ah yes the poker games where more often than naught you and I fell prey to the Brodie brother's phenomenal good luck.  Those were good times.  Thank you Jim.
