

Famous in her circle for her sense of humor and outgoing personality, Joan exemplified the attributes of love and compassion. she sustained many enduring friendships, spanning from elementary school through today, and touched many lives throughout her nursing career.
Joan came to nursing beginning as a housekeeper in an acute hospital. Through perseverance and dedication, she became a licensed vocational nurse and then a registered nurse. After years of service, Joan was proud to become District Manager for the California Department of Public Health, Licensing and Certification, for the Fresno District Office. In this position, she was the ultimate champion for the health care delivered in our community. Her rapport with providers and the staff she managed was exceptional, promoting high standards and quality care in the Valley.
Joan was also admired for her public speaking skills; her wealth of knowledge, and endless well of humor easily connected with audiences of whatever size. The past couple of months found her in one of her favorite roles, as a Teacher and Mentor. Countless nurses and providers benefited from Joan's guidance and expertise.
Joan will be missed by all those fortunate to call her sister in Christ, Aunt Joan, Boss, Friend, Mentor, Nurse, and Mom to her beloved little dogs
