

John Albert “Jack” Kratt of Clovis California passed away on Tuesday April 28th after complications from open heart surgery. Jack was born on November 25th, 1932, in Charleroi Pennsylvania to Robert and Norella Kratt. He grew up in Pennsylvania where he played high school football. He later moved to California where he met his future wife of 73 years Donna. Right after he was married, he was enlisted in the marines and was deployed to Korea. He was honorably discharged earning a purple heart. After working different jobs, he ended up on the Fresno Fire department where he worked his way up the ranks to Battalion chief after years of hard work and furthering his education.
Jack and Donna raised three kids, John, Jim, and Julie.
Jack was known for being a hard worker, very meticulous, but a generous person often donating to many charities that were important to him.
He loved riding motorcycles often competing in dirt bike races, running, and working out at the gym where he made many friends. Everyone knew him there. He also loved his Fresno State Bulldogs rarely missing a game that was televised.
Jack is survived by his wife Donna, his three children, John Kratt, Jim Kratt, and Julie Gaynor, three grandchildren, Kenneth Kratt, Sierra Gaynor, and Heath Gaynor.
He was predeceased by his parents, his older brother Bob Kratt, and younger sister Ruth Wedel.
A graveside service will be held Monday May 18th at 9:00am at the Clovis cemetery.
