Lydia Ann (Reyna) Ramos, also known as Goga, was born on January 12, 1948 in Merced, Ca. Lydia had two siblings, Robert and Kathy Reyna. Lydia had two daughters Rochelle and Erica Ramos. One son Rudy Ramos Jr. and three grandkids Anthony Lopez, Nathaniel and Victoria Aguirre. She got married to Rudy Ramos Sr. on July 10, 1971 at Our Lady of Mercy Church. They were happily married for 47 years, an achievement that any couple would be proud of. She was a loving housewife who was known for her bubbly personality, infectious smile, and her one-of-a-kind laugh. She was always the one that her friends and family confided in and trusted her advice. She was loyal in every aspect of her life. Loyal to her family, friends, and even her casinos. Lydia was never too busy to lend a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. As for her slot machines, she enjoyed being around all the flashing lights, bells ringing and those catchy jingles as she would hit a jackpot. She was the most sincere and compassionate person many of us had in our lives. She loved creating precious memories and spoiled her kids whenever possible. Especially during Christmas. She could shop from open to close. Her granddaughter Victoria gleamed as she said, "grandma made the perfect ponytail and she's always happy to see me."
Some of her favorite activates included listening, singing and dancing along to her favorite songs, particularly, oldies but goodies. A few others include their wedding song, Cariño. Midnight Train to Georgia, By Gladys Knight as well as any song by Selena. The family couldn't keep her off the dancefloor when the song would play, "Its getting hot in here" by Nelly. She religiously enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas on television, HGTV, her scary movies on Sci-fi and Chiller (as long as they weren't based on a true story of course) and her cooking channels. She would also like to watch food reviews online. Lydia and her son Rudy Jr. both shared a certain love for these videos as a means of relaxation. Through her passion for food, Lydia somehow discovered how to cook in such a way that could heal the soul, ease the mind, or mend a broken heart by adding her own touch of love. So while sitting on her favorite rocking chair with her dogs, chiquis and sharpe at her feet, her husband always next to her side and the soothing sounds of her kids and grandkids in the next room(s). Sometimes the family would wonder how she could stay in the house for days at a time, but its because she had everything she could ever dream of right there in her own home. Who, in their right mind would leave such a place?
They say home is where the heart is, so your heart resides with us. The impact you had on countless others will be the mark you left on the world and the love you showed your friends and family will leave a lasting impression. We will cherish the moments we shared. You will always live on in our hearts. You taught us how to love unconditionally. So our Love for you is eternal. Lydia, Mom, you will never be forgotten.
