Many will know Mary form her work volunteering at the Selma Senior Center teaching senior citizens computer skills as well as assisting with their food distribution program for the Selma community.
Mary was born on August 27, 1957, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Stephen Maurice Ward Sr. and Mary Irene (McFadden) Ward. At age three Mary’s family relocated to Lompoc, California where she attended local schools until the family moved and settled into Santa Maria. She graduated from St Joseph High School in 1975. Mary was blessed with two daughters: Rebecca (Ward) Rockwell and Melinda (McBroom) Kenner. Mary spent many years working as an accountant as well as processing tax returns for the IRS. After retirement she began her volunteer work for the community.
Mary was preceded in death by her Mother, Father, and younger brother, Don Ward.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Rockwell, Texas, and Melinda Kenner (Christopher), California, seven grandchildren, (Rebecca), Christopher Ward-Malone; Brooklynn and Memphys Cunningham; (Melinda), Antonio Ramirez, Lillyanna, Schuyler, and Jaimie Kenner and one great grandchild, (Antonio) Myleene Ramirez; Her brothers Stephen Ward Jr. (Lori) of Ridgefield, Connecticut, and Mark Ward (Cheryl) of Santa Maria, California, as well as numerous nephews and their families, and friends she has kept since elementary school.

A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Avenue, Clovis, California 93612
A Private interment will be in The Santa Maria Cemetery, Santa Maria, California later in January.
